Elly was born in Gloucestershire and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain as a flautist. Whilst still at school, she studied at the Royal Academy of Music, having both flute and piano lessons there. Afterwards she studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama as a joint first study flautist and pianist, before graduating and becoming a prize winner as a flautist.
After graduation, Elly became a full time member of staff at Sherborne School for Girls in Dorset, where she remained for over 3 years. After this followed many years of travel to India and the beginning of a strong affection for anything Indian.
Elly currently teaches the flute and piano full time and leads a busy life as an orchestral flautist, accompanist and performer.
Elly’s Other Musical Services:
Accompanying – I have many years experience accompanying numerous students (my own and others) for their exams, recitals, auditions and concerts.
Solo piano – I am available for background music, such as during the meal at a wedding, corporate events, parties, restaurants etc
Flute and guitar – Accompanied by Paul Newman – a Cheltenham based guitarist, I am available for similar occasions to those mentioned above.
Classical flute and piano – for a sophisticated event!
